Pendant lighting over kitchen islands are a popular choice for homeowners and for good reason. Because of their usually small size they can hang low without interfering with sight lines and they give a good amount of downward light. Homeowners and designers will often use the pendant light as an accent color in the kitchen; the small size lends itself to a nice pop of color or pattern.
