Ocean Ranch, Laguna Niguel, CA

Dec 2014

A flood inspired the owners of this 1980s home in Ocean Ranch to update and minimize. Our restriction was that the homeowners did not want to use any color, so we needed to create a harmonious balance with the contemporary architecture using a palette of neutrals. We opted for a soft contemporary feeling using moss green, pale green, soft brown, dark beige, and cream alongside dark wood in some rooms and pale driftwood in others. Texture, rather than pattern, creates visual interest in the rooms. Organic materials mixed with dark bronze metal details add a natural touch. A fully automated home, lights, sound, and window coverings are all accessed by remote control. A state of the art sound system in the Media Room is confined in the room by special sound absorbing wall and ceiling materials.

Glamorous Master Bedroom

Jun 2014

The Master Bedroom that we designed for the 2014 Philharmonic House of Design in Dana Point was imagined to be crisp, calm and resort-like, with an organic feeling and an elegant sparkle. This push and pull of textures creates an unexpected and interesting environment that is still restful. Custom Italian linens sit against the stainless steel detailed headboard. The organic fabric is balanced with a hint of sparkle; the natural elements of the rock crystal lamps and shagreen night stands wrap the bed in luxury. Architecturally detailed chairs flank a beautiful side table of quartz, silver leaf, and frosted glass adding a jewelry-like accent. The horizontal detailing is repeated in the fireplace. The spectacular custom area rug uses undyed natural wool with threads of sparkling Lurex in a pattern resembling wood grain. Welcome to Organic Glam!

Balboa Island, Newport Beach, CA

Sep 2013

Our latest project, this 6,680 sf estate on the tip of Balboa Island is now on the market for $17MM. Its owner wanted an updated, brighter, lighter feel to their interiors. We opted for reupholstering their treasured antique pieces, blending in some contemporary and transitional elements to make the spaces eclectic, much more open, and fun.

Edgy Black & White Bachelor Pad

Dec 2012

This project was a 2,000 sq.ft. renovation in the hills of Trabuco Canyon. Our goal was to transform the existing traditional, "cookie cutter" tract home (in dated beige and peach tones), into a contemporary, cutting-edge bachelor pad.

Pelican Hill Estate

Sep 2012

For this luxurious home our goal was to accessorize and bring life to an already existing selection of flooring, paints and wall coverings. A formal but inviting mood was created by refreshing some of the existing furniture, with the addition of a few custom pieces and accessories.

Orange Park Acres Equestrian Estate

Feb 2012

Pastoral and sprawling, this large ranch home was in need of an update. The heavy, Tuscan inspired details made the space feel small and crowded. The homeowners wanted a lively, open space to entertain their large extended family. An extensive remodel for this Orange Park Acres equestrian ranch style home created a true Great Room from the cramped 90's styled family room. Adding the space from an unused outdoor patio allowed us to create a large, open space. Changing the colors from burgundy, green and gold to a lovely monochromatic palette of soothing creamy neutrals accented with black, helped to create the feeling of spaciousness and luxury. The chunky upholstery pieces were replaced with sleek, clean-lined pieces to help open up the space. An antique Chinese bed platform used as a coffee table provides a bit of whimsy. The Breakfast Nook became a large informal Dining Room that is an extension of the new Great Room. A painted limestone effect was used on the existing brick fireplace, helping to set the tone for a lighter, more open and airy space. Using a bench for part of the seating helps to eliminate crowding and give a place for the grandkids to sit that can handle sticky hands. Custom designed dining chairs upholstered in heavy duty velvet add to the luxurious feeling of the room and can also be used in the adjacent Great Room for additional seating. The window seat cushions were updated in a serviceable ostrich print taupe vinyl enhanced by rich cut velvet brocade and metallic woven pillows, making it a perfect place to sit and enjoy the outdoors.
