Though fall isn’t officially here yet, now is a good time to get your house ready for the new season. And no house is complete without great seasonal decor. You might be able to find lots of great fall-themed decorations in stores, but decor always has a more quaint and personal touch when it’s DIY. Here are five DIY fall decor projects to get you in the creative mood!
Here’s an innovative spin on an old fall tradition: the scarecrow! Stacey Byrne of Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy came up with a kid-friendly scarecrow decoration made of a Mason jar. Along with some paint, buttons, and bag of raffia, this jar is sure to make a unique addition to your home.
Our Southern Home‘s Christie shares a simple, yet effective porch piece. This project features an everyday bucket dressed up with paint, Mod-Podge, and some wrapping paper for a festive place to put your outdoor plants.
While Jenna from Rain on a Tin Roof loves wreaths, she decided to go in a different direction this year with her Fall Rectangle Wreath, using fabric and some basic wreath elements, she puts a contemporary spin on an old standby.
Paula, who manages the blog Virginia Sweet Pea, made a pillow inspired by sacks of flour, helping bring a rural, down-home feel to her autumn decor.
These awesome glass pieces come courtesy of Roeshel of DIY Show Off. And like most things on this list, everything you need can be found at a local crafts store!
