We have worked with Matt from Fredrick Lee Remodeling. He installed wood flooring in our home, upgraded our baseboards and made our once ugly carpeted stairway into a focal point of our home and something that I love to show family and friends as they come into our home. The prices are very fair and the quality of the work speaks for itself. Matt stands behind his work and is our go to person for any work we need done in our home. He always cleans up after he is done working, never leaving a mess. His work is impeccable and he is a very hard worker. We were very pleased with Matt's work and will hire him again on our next home project! I would highly recommend him.

We feel so fortunate to have found Fredrick Lee Remodeling when we moved to the area 2 years ago. We hired the company to do a large basement remodel and were pleased with every aspect of the project from start to finish. Our basement turned out beautifully! We have had many comments on the quality of work that is clearly seen in the finished product. Matt stands behind his work and takes pride in the quality of what is being done. Not only of what he is doing directly, but also that of his crew. During and since our basement remodel Matt has helped with/given advice on multiple small things around the house and often without charge. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and HONEST! We have commented multiple times to family and friends about how lucky we are to have found someone in this industry with such integrity and honesty. It is hard to find these days. Matt and his company will have our business for any relevant projects that come up for years to come.

Matt from Fredrick Lee Remodeling came out to our house back on April 5 to look at the garage remodel project we wanted done and was very nice and open about the project. Fredrick Lee Remodeling was 1 of 4 companies that came out to quote the project, and Fredrick Lee Remodeling wasn't the cheapest or most expensive, but he was the best price with a very detailed quote and project outline that we received on April 22. We then emailed Matt back on June 2 after reviewing all the quotes we had received and told him we'd like to move forward with Fredrick Lee Remodeling as out contractor for the garage remodel project, which was replied to by Matt on June 4 saying he'd start working on the drawing the village of Arlington Heights required and permits to get the project started. A few days pasted and we hadn't heard back from Matt in regards to the drawing and permit so we reached out on June 18 for an update, which returned an email the same day saying he'll get us start date soon and that he still needs to start the drawings. Then on July 3 Matt reached out to us letting us know he "[hasn't] forgot about [our] project. With the recent weather I have been pushed back. I am going to need more time to get the drawings together." so we replied back on July 4 saying "Understandable and thanks for the update". But come July 25 we still haven't received an update on the drawings or a start date so we reached out to Matt again for an update, which returned a reply on July 26 of "I apologize, I have totally dropped the ball on your project. This summer has been one if the craziest with emergency jobs and just not staying on schedule. I don't think September 15th would work. I understand if you want to find another contractor to do the project. I want to do it, but it realistically wouldn't happen till late fall. Once again I apologize for any inconvenience I have caused.". So after that my wife and I discussed finding a new contractor for the project, but on August 6 we replied to Matt saying "My wife and I have gone back and forth about this and we’d like to continue working with you on the garage remodel. Not being able to have the garage done before our family party Sept 15 isn’t ideal but we felt the most comfortable with you and your quote so we’d like to stay the course. Let me know when you estimate the drawings will be completed and the project started.". Again a quick reply from Matt on August 6 saying "Sounds good. I will be into the village with paperwork by the end of next week.". August 19 rolls around and we again haven't heard back from Matt in regards to the drawings and start date so yet again we reach out for an update which resulted in a reply on August 20 of "Drawings and application were submitted. They said the plan review could take 10 business days. It probably will not take that long. They will give me costs and details on the permit at that time." (FINALLY! Drawings have been submitted and we are going to get the project started... nope!) Then finally just yesterday (August 22) we received the following message from Matt stating, "I am forwarding you the email I received from the village. I sent in similar drawings for a full garage to another village and had no problems what so ever. I am sorry to say I am going to pass on this job with it being a permitted job in Arlington Heights. The drawings are there at the village if you want to go forward with using them and updating them. I paid for the plan review so they are yours if you want them. I apologize, but I am done dealing with the village of Arlington Heights. I can refer you to Advanced Design. They do a lot of work in Arlington Heights.". All in all, after months of waiting on Matt and us staying true to our commitment to Fredrick Lee Remodeling, Matt ends up bailing on us after the first “hiccup” - not very professional and we'll be sure to remember that when someone asks for a contractor referral. Don't use Fredrick Lee Remodeling!
