• 10/5 Thursday – submitted a claim via American home shield through their website. Was contacted to schedule appointment for the next day 10/6. • 10/6 Friday – was contacted by Piedmont Mechanical saying they couldn’t make it and needed to reschedule for 10/9. • 10/9 Monday – Was not there with the tech. I programmed a code for him to get in the house to do whatever he needed to do. I was never contacted by the tech and only had a receipt on my counter when I got home saying “replaced high voltage wiring.” Not only was the air still making the exact same noise, but it wasn’t cooling right now. It was 75 degrees in the house and at most upper 80 degrees outside with the thermostat at 70 degrees. • 10/10 Tuesday – Called Piedmont Mechanical back that morning. Had to call at least 10 times to get someone to answer the phone (that will be a re-occurring theme in this nightmare.) He said he would send someone back out there today. I received a call from the tech that afternoon saying I had 2 bad parts. 1 he had and 1 he would have to order. I was told 3-5 days to get the part, but he would call when he got a confirmation on when the part would be in. • 10/11 Wednesday – Heard nothing from Piedmont Mechanical. • 10/12 Thursday – Called Piedmont mechanical, again had to call 10 times to get someone to answer the phone. Told the guy I’m trying to figure out if I need to make arrangements to get some window units to cool the house and was wondering if he knew when the part would be in. He said he’d call the tech and let me know something. Didn’t hear back from anyone! • 10/13 Friday – No contact • 10/14 Saturday – No contact • 10/15 Sunday – No contact • 10/16 Monday – No contact • 10/17 Tuesday – My wife called, once again had to call 10 times to get an answer, and was told that they have the part and would call back to schedule an appointment time. They called back that afternoon and scheduled a 2pm-5pm appointment. • 10/18 Wednesday – I made sure to be home this time knowing that my AC was not going to be fixed and I was going the get another excuse, sure enough I did. Was told the part they sent was the wrong part and that NOVEMBER 2nd would be the earliest carrier would be able to ship it. That was at 4:50pm. In the 10 minutes I had to find someone I called carrier and gave them the exact part number I needed. He told me it could be overnighted and here the next day but I needed an account. Called the tech back, he called them, called me back and said they just told him November 2nd again. CONTINUED NEXT PAGE. • 10/19 Thursday – In spending about 10 minutes online I have found 3 different websites saying they could have the part shipped and in hand by tomorrow. Passed that info on to the tech about 15 minutes ago and haven’t heard anything as of yet. • 10/19 Thursday – Talked to tech. Told him I wanted it fixed even if I had to replace the entire system at MY cost. He told me he would call his office and they would get me a cost and schedule a time to come out. NEVER heard anything from anyone. Called back and talked to their office and he said he would call back. NEVER heard back. • 10/29 Sunday – Haven’t been contacted since I called them 10/19 Thursday.
