Where do I begin? I lived in an apartment complex that had Tier One take over management of the place. I was told nothing would change and basically given non answers from jump. I was asked last April (2019) to sign a new lease with them. I put it off and forgot about it. This past month I received a missed call from them so I returned the call. When the call was answered I was immediately transferred to Jairo without explanation. He stated he needed me to sign the lease. I told I would do so only if the terms were the same as the original lease excluding the fact that rent was increased. I also requested a paper copy to be mailed to me. I was told I had to physically come in to the office or sign electronically. I couldn't sign electronically due to only being able to view this long lease my phone in tiny font. I wanted to actually READ my lease. I was unable to stop by their office because they close at 4. I'm not leaving work specifically to sign a lease, this was communicated to Jairo. He refused to mail a copy. I told him fine send it electronically and I'd sign it. He refused and then said he was going to talk to the owner and "see about getting you out in 30 days". Needless to say there was a notice to vacate but nothing that had gone through due process and I had already paid March's rent in full. I found a new place within 6 days, I'm glad to be leaving. I lived at this particular property for 6.5 years. Tier One started managing in September of 2018. I had a 1 year lease originally with Bell Realty and I had the option to go month to month for an additional $50 per month. I was month to month for 5.5 out of the 6.5 years I lived here, nobody said anything about a fee which I was willing to pay. I was not offered that option with Tier One, basically I was new lease or you can leave. Tier One is extremely heavy handed when dealing with tenants. They prefer to dictate what is going to happen, they have no interest is having a back and forth intelligent conversation. These guys manage for slumlords, just stop by 1363-1365 Emery Street it's incredibly apparent by the outside visual you get. I had water damage in my apartment, not my fault, things rarely were fixed timely or even correct. The owner has a maintenance man he uses let's just say my cats could do a better job, everything was half asked. So if you're looking to be nickel and dimed to death Tier One is who you should rent from. Side note, I've never dealt with a more disrespectful group of individuals in my life, yep Jessica, Jairo, Sylvia Megan....every single person mentioned was nasty at some point in my interactions with them. So glad to be out of their clutches, good fucking riddance. Go gaffle someone else, dicks!!!!!!
