DeRussos Landscape and irrigation installation

I had a leak in the main waterline of my irrigation system. Norman found the leak, repaired it, and also added a few sprinkler heads to my landscaping as needed. What impressed me most about Norman is his honesty and dependability. He does what he says he'll do, when he says he'll do it!

My lawn guy broke my sprinkler head so I contacted Norman and told him what happened and he told me that he could go out there and fix it but he could also walk me through it over the phone free of charge. I informed him that I would just rather have him come out and do it. He came out and fixed it and he went out of his way to lay a piece of sod where the mower damaged the grass. When he was done he was only going to charge me his service fee of 50 dollars and he didn't feel right doing that but I gave him 65 instead. I have recommended him to all my neighbors as well. I refuse to use anyone else except for Norman for all my landscape construction needs.

Well I am an owner of a refinish and reupholsterey company. And I know Norman from the church and I recently moved to Olsten Fl and needed some plant beds put in. Norman was awesome he did awesome work and was a true gentlemen. He worked till the job was done. He is not a fraud. And I would recommend him to anyone who needs landscape work done.

Where should I begin. After a couple messages on Thumbtack I called Norman on the phone and I explained exactly what my wife and I wanted done. We asked for digging up of grass and put down a type of mulch in place of the grass. He says no problem and comes to our home a couple days later. Again we went over the area we wanted to be dug up and replaced with mulch. I asked if he was going to use fabric and round up for weed protection and he stated no problem. I had in mind of purchasing rubber mulch but Norman advised against it and so we ended up with regular much from Home Depot which cost $2 a bag (It is the stay where you put mulch), (no wonder why he advised against it, so he would buy the cheap one and keep most of the money leaving me with a mediocre job). We scheduled the work for the next Monday which was 9/8/2014. Norman stated he requires a down payment of the work which was $400. I wrote him out check. No problem. On the Monday 9/8/2014 Norman arrived 30 minutes late. He asked if I wanted to do the actual marking of area to be dug and I told him he can do it assuming he knew what he was doing. (2nd mistake I made) First one was hiring Norman. After he marked the area he proceeded to start working around 10 am. At about 11:30 am I noticed he started to put mulch down without the weed protection fabric. I asked why and he stated Round Up will do the job. I was shocked. I told him to stop mulching and that I will go purchase the fabric and put it down myself because he was going to charge me extra for laying down the weed fabric. I left to go to Home Depot. He left our home before 1 pm. (My wife saw him leave around 12:45pm, so she called me and told me he didn't even say he was leaving nor say when he was coming back to finish the work) Around 3pm. we started calling him to know what was going on? he didn't picked up and when he finally did he told us his wife got sick and he was not going to come out until Friday, we could believe it! So I ended up doing the work myself. When he came back to my house on Friday 9/12/2014 around 11am, he lied to my face telling me he left at 2:30pm, plus asking for more money to finish the work I did. Can't believe this guy. Stay away at all cost. This guy is a fraud!
