Port Charlotte exterior paint

Apr 2015

This project included exterior paint, stucco repairs & trim around the windows and doors to hide the hurricane shutter fasteners. Exterior paint is much more than aesthetics. Paint also provides a protective barrier for your home's exterior, much like a roof provides a barrier to your home. Preparing a home for paint is key. An aggressive cleaning with a pressure washer removes all the dirt, mold and mildew as well as any paint that may be peeling. After cleaning, we remove fixtures that are no longer in use and fixtures that need to be protected during the paint process. We then repair stair step cracks and other fissures that occur during settling with an elastomeric compound. This process will not only improve the look of the home but will also keep water from seeping into the home. Once the repairs have been completed, a sealant is applied to the home. The sealant is applied to insure proper paint adhesion. The first coat of paint is sprayed and then rolled with a thick nap roller. A second coat provides a rich and flawless finish. Rather than replacing the soffit and fascia on this home, we cleaned, sealed and painted it to a factory finish. We used Sherwin Williams products on this home. For the window and door trim, we used a cellular PVC with a wood-look rather than wood. This product is a durable, low-maintenance alternative to wood. It won't rot, delaminate or swell due to moisture and it's highly resistant to insects. With all of that, it's also a recycled product so it's environmentally friendly and sustainable. We think it was the perfect product for this project.
