  | Mold Inspection | Oct 2014 | I had a customer trying to sell her home and the buyers home inspection determined that she had a mold issue, so the buyer brought in a company to perform a mold inspection. The company which performed the mold inspection did mold removal as well. They provided her a quote for approximately $10,0000.00 to remove the mold and fix all mold related issues. She decided to get a second opinion and contacted us to do an evaluation of the property. After my evaluation of the home, it was determined that the mold issue was not nearly as extensive as previously specified. There was some mold growth and mold related issues found, so I recommended a mold remediation company that provided her a new quote for the mold clean up and related repairs. The total cost of my inspection, the mold clean up and repairs, along with a follow up inspection was approximately $8,000.00 less than the initial quote. Our client had the issues resolved, sold her home, saved a lot of money, was grateful for our quality customer care and is now happy in her new residence. Due to conflicts of interest Home Assessment Specialists, LLC does not do mold removal, so we do not benefit from finding mold in your home. Quality service and integrity is our #1 priority. With this being said, it is always a good idea to hire an independent mold inspection professional to determine if mold growth is present in your home and have a mold removal company that specializes in removal and not inspections and testing perform the clean up.
