In general, chain link fence posts shouldn’t be installed more than 10 feet apart. They should be spaced evenly for aesthetic purposes, so it’s wise to measure the space between terminal posts (also known as fence end points), and then determine the average space required to evenly space posts less than 10 feet apart. Ideally, fence posts should be placed six-to-eight feet apart for maximum stability.
While it’s possible to install a chain link fence yourself, there’s a lot to know ahead of time before you decide to go the DIY route.
