I did not have a bad experience with Metrex until I moved out. I liked having an internet portal where I could pay rent and put in work orders for repairs. Also, the response time for work orders that I had entered was within a reasonable amount of time. However, 4 months before moving out, I contacted my property manager to see if there were options to go month to month for my lease and left a message on her voicemail. This voicemail was never returned. 3 months before moving out, I called my property manager and informed her that I was moving out of my apartment when the lease was over. At the end of the conversation, I asked the property manager if there was ANYTHING else that I needed to do to make this official and she responded by saying no. Fast-forward to 2 weeks before my lease was ending: I had contacted my property manager to see if there was any moving out check list that needed to be completed because I had not heard anything from her for a couple of months. Upon receiving this phone call, my property manager acted as if this was the first time she had heard of me moving out and upon moving out, I was charged with prorated rent to force 30 day notice. Also note that I had actually moved out of my apartment a month before my lease was over and my property manager had to perform an inspection of my apartment during this time where she would have noticed that there was no furniture and that I had moved out. I called Metrex 5 times after I recieved this charge (even though after each time I called, I was told that someone would call me back with an update) and was told that there was nothing that could be done to relieve any of this charge. I feel that I was intentionally lead on by my property manager to get $700 out of me. If this management company really cared about their clients, they wouldn't try to intentionally mislead them and refuse to provide guidance on moving out when the client informed them that they were moving out. So if you're reading this and plan to rent with Metrex, when you plan to move out, I suggest that you go into the office to have this conversation with your property manager and do not leave until it is in writing that you are moving out of your apartment.
