MDB Painting of Dallas/Fort Worth/Midlothian, TX As consumers, we develop a belief that following extensive research we are well-educated and ready to hire the right service professional to meet our needs. Unfortunately, though we cross every "t" and dot every "i" we sometimes hire the wrong person. I hired Mr. B. of MDB Painting to paint the inside of my home. The next day, following completion, I noticed several minor imperfections which led to a list of major ones involving the walls, ceilings, baseboards, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and furniture. There were dried droplets of paint covering the walls. The walls, (though close in color) were partially painted. Newly applied paint was peeling from the surface of the former paint. My bathroom wallpaper was not removed, but there were visible wallpaper impressions. Above the bathroom cabinets, the wallpaper was not painted at all. In my formal entryway and around the fireplace, wallpaper was torn due to the removal of painter's tape. The ceilings, baseboards, and baseboard corners were matted with thick masses of paint. Some baseboards were not thoroughly painted. My hardwood floors were stained. Light fixtures, electrical wall sockets, and towel rods were stained with paint along with several plumbing fixtures. Mr. B. was scheduled to return to my residence the next day, but he failed to return. It was at this time I planned to talk with him about the unfinished work. The obvious question you might have is, "Did you do an inspection before paying the painter?" Yes, I did. But on inspection day, I was consumed with work. My attention was divided therefore, I didn't notice the areas mentioned until later. By the way, upon the urging of family and friends, I filed a civil suit against Mr. Bowens and won! With 50 photos of my home's condition, my case was undisputed. Unfortunately, Mr. B. didn't pay the settlement judgment either which is another reflection of his character and lack of business ethics. Learn a lesson from me... If you decide to hire a painter don't hire Mr. B. His website, which is professionally created doesn't reflect his true painting or handyman skills.

This man did a horrible job! I had to fire him and pay someone else to finish and correct his work. Also, he promised in writing to remove all popcorn from ceiling and skylight and then to mud and smooth it out. Once he got his hands on the job he said there was more work involved in doing that and it would be more money. He got paint on my stained wood. He messed up my ceiling fan. He used latex paint over oil base doors and trimmed which immeadiatly started peeling. He put gloss paint on the ceiling (very badly I might add...it was splotchy) where it was suppossed to be flat ceiling paint. Was suppossed to fix some holes and then texture them. You could see where every hole he patched was located. I could go on and on. Run away from this man. If his price seems cheap, there is a reason why.
