Paver Patio with Outdoor Lighted Fire Pit

Nov 2019

The customer had an outdated railroad tie retaining wall and brick patio that were re-engineered and updated making the space more usable. The back yard was re-graded and a drainage system was installed to keep water away from the house. Lighting was also added to improve safety and help create an outdoor living space that can be used and enjoyed day and night. The customer had this to say: “Paul and his team did a great job with our retaining wall and patio project! They were hard-working, easy to work with, and executed quickly. We are very pleased overall.”

Whole Yard Renovation

Oct 2022

This project was a complete overhaul. The challenge was to improve the grading and natural drainage to resolve the years long issue of standing water and poorly draining soil. We were able to achieve that by removing everything including trees, plants, lawn, sidewalk, and driveway in order to start with a clean slate. We improved the grading and elevations in both the front and the back to alleviate the problems with natural drainage and we incorporated multiple dry creeks along with catch basins and drainage for all downspouts. We also installed a new irrigation system that waters more efficiently and is not compounding the drainage issues. The next step was to install a new concrete driveway with a paver border and apron to give it a new look as well as accentuate the landscaping. We continued the paver theme with a walkway from the driveway all the way to the back patio where we have a natural gas fire pit and just enough space to sit around it in the evenings without having to deal with fire wood or smoke. The landscaping was designed to soften the red brick of the house and we used ornamental grasses extensively in the front and back to give us the aesthetic we were looking for. The low voltage lighting was the final touch in creating an environment that is warm and inviting.

Secluded Gardens

Oct 2022

This project started with the idea of replacing an old wooden privacy fence that was falling apart. We wanted to not only replace the fence with something functional, but also something that would give us an updated look. We used Cedar, which is conducive to getting a modern, contemporary look and we installed the pickets horizontally, which works to accentuate the long, straight lines of the walkway. We decided to go without a gate, which gives it an inviting, friendly look. As you follow the walkway to the back we wanted to build towards the feeling of entering a quiet, secluded garden. The garden boxes are fully functional to grow herbs and vegetables, but are constructed with Cedar to continue the theme we started with the fence. In order to keep the plants healthy, we installed an irrigation zone specifically for the garden boxes that can be operated using a smartphone app. We believe if you are going to garden, you may as well do it in style.
