Pier restaurant bar deck insulation

Jan 2017

This restaurant / Bar is located on the Ohio River. The large addition is a deck that has been enclosed. In the winter the cold air blew up between the decking through the current insulating leaving the room unusable. We air sealed and insulated the entire deck below the enclosed area by using foam board and dense packing cellulose. The insulation resulted in a warm floor without cold air blowing through making the restaurant and bar area now usable all four seasons.

Encapsulated Crawlspace

Aug 2016

This home owner called us reporting some serious structural problems with their home resulting from a wet vented crawlspace. The crawlspace was damp and cold and was causing mold to form on their floor joist and main supporting beam. The main supporting beam was rotting and sagging causing the house to sink. The home upstairs had cracks and damage in the plaster from the house sinking below. There was evidence of moisture loving pests including termites, carpenter ants and even a raccoon caucus. Certified Mold Inspector and Energy Specialist Mark O designed a solution to keep the crawlspace clean, dry and mold free. We removed the two rotting main supporting beams and replaced them. Next our team installed a CleanSpace crawlspace system, a SaniDry dehumidifier and an EverLast crawl space door. The owner is thrilled to have a dry mold free crawlspace that he knows he will not have to worry about and warm floors above. As an added bonus the crawlspace can now be used as storage!

Attic Insulation in McMurray, PA

Jun 2016

The owner was in the process of purchasing a new home. During a routine home inspection mold was discovered in the attic. Certified mold inspector and remediator and Certified Comfort and Energy Specialist Mark O evaluated the home. Mark determined the mold was caused by a common problem, poor insulation and lack of proper ventilation. Mark designed a mold remediation protocol which included removal of the mold, properly ventilating the attic, and then properly air sealing and insulating the attic. Forman Dave P. and Home Environment Solutions certified mold removal team properly removed all of the microbial growth in the attic leaving a healthy environment. Next our team air sealed the attic and properly insulated with cellulose insulation to an average of R60 for optimum results. The HVAC ducts located in the attic were spray foamed to air seal and insulate. The owners were ecstatic with the results! They reported back that in August the home was the same temperature throughout and the cooling bill was half the cost of the home they just moved from that was significantly smaller.
