I wish I could give C.D. Home Services an excellent review. We met with Geoffrey Martin, contractor for this company, with intentions of having our screen porch made into a dry walled room.We were very impressed with him and his knowledge concerning our repair. Not having done any work to our townhome that we own and have lived in for 23 years, we started talking about other remodeling we wanted to do. In all Geoffrey Martin and his sub-contracted workers, not employees, worked in our home from May until October of 2015. We ended up remodeling the entire interior of our home. I wish I could walk from room to room and not point out work that is imperfect, but I cannot. We were promised that they would not leave until we were completely happy with all work, but as it turns out not only did the work not get completed as promised, we found that Geoffrey Martin was NOT licensed to work in Pinellas County and he NEVER OBTAINED A PERMIT to do our porch. Now, we have tried to reach him since the first week of December. We have called, e-mailed, texted, and sent two certified letters that were stamped REFUSED. The architect that HE helped us obtain to draw up our plans has also tried to contact Geoffrey Martin, but he did not answer his call either. In all, our house looks good, if not only for the fact that it was built in 1987, and now it is completely updated. I just have a hard time showing it to my friends without pointing out errors in construction such as uneven tile work, grout that is different shades, expensive acacia hardwood floors that snap and crackle due to concrete floors not being leveled underneath, and paintwork that is patchy. Our biggest problem now though is that we will have to pay to get an "after the fact"permit, and pay to have our house inspected. These are things that Geoffrey Martin could do if he wanted to complete this project in good standing, but as it stands I feel we are not going to have contact with him, or he would have done it by now. I have held off 3 weeks in posting this review in hopes that he would make this right, but he has not. In all our job totaled more than $48,000. in his labor and materials, and we also have an additional $29,000. in materials that we purchased. All the invoices he presented to us were paid in full, and we owe him no monies. He did say we could withhold 10% of costs until we were satisfied, but I had full trust in him and paid him in full as he invoiced us room by room. We will NEVER make that mistake again.
