Cottage on a Finger Lake

Feb 2015

We worked with the Thom Felicia Design Group on this house on a Finger Lake in Upstate NY. We used inset cabinets in grey. Chicken wire was used in the upper doors. A special area was made for their dog bowls. Perimeter counters are in Hudson Soapstone and the island counter is a custom made natural cherry wood.

White and Walnut Kitchen

Oct 2013

This traditional kitchen features a breakfast nook, island, and a butler's pantry. White cabinets are throughout, walnut is the countertop on the island , and Revelation granite is used on the perimeter countertops. Crackled enamel backsplash, glass door fronts, and recessed lighting complete the elegant feeling of the room. Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances were included. This kitchen is a cook's dream with dual preparation zones, a clean-up zone, and a cooking zone all separate, at the customer's request.

Transitional Treasure

Nov 2012

To improve the traffic flow in the kitchen, the existing peninsula will be reduced in length and an additional peninsula will be added to create an eating/gathering area as well as to increase the working countertop surfaces. The cooking will be moved to the back wall and the island will be one level and used as a prep station. The cooking area will be larger featuring a 6 burner pro series range top and a pot filler. The clean-up area will improve with ample countertop and storage nearby and the refrigeration zone will no longer be on the other side of the island from the rest of the room. To further improve storage and function there will no longer be wasted countertops/wall area for a desk. Lastly to better utilize the square footage and available space, the doorway to the dining room will shift slightly to allow space for the refrigeration peninsula.

Less is More

Sep 2010

We combined clean-line contemporary elements with an organic and natural material twist in this contemporary kitchen. The outcome was an unquestionable harmony of earth and art. Storage needs were addressed with a large walk-in pantry which allowed the kitchen to have less upper cabinets thus following the contemporary template of "less is more". Horizontal lines were a theme which was executed in everything from the wood grain on the cabinets, backsplash tile, and fireplace design. The earthy materials included teak cabinets by Decor, honed granite countertops and grass infused resin which was made from 40% pre-consumer recycled material. The trick to harmony in design was combining contrasting elements in the right quantities to please the fickle eye. We did this by combining rustic woods such as the teak cabinets, the natural walnut breakfast bar, and the Brazilian walnut floor with shiny stainless steel appliances, chartreuse glass tile, and back-lit steel framed frosted glass cabinet doors.

Traditional Bathroom

Apr 2010

To achieve our objective Bryce and Doyle proposed to remove all of the cabinetry and plate mirrors in the current space. We filled the room with warm cherry cabinetry and warm neutral colored tile. New granite countertops added a sophisticated touch to the room and provide a light, yet stunning backdrop to the supporting design elements such as new wall sconces, plumbing fixtures and oval mirrors. By removing the wall on the right side of the shower and moving it over in addition to taking the left wall down to the tub deck, and replacing the glass with a custom frameless glass, we will gave the shower a more open spacious feel as well as better access through a wider door. New accent lighting in the form of toe kick and up lights added a sense of drama to the room as well as provided a perfect night light. The addition of a central hanging light fixture will also add a perfect focal point and accentuate the vaulted lines of the ceiling. With all of these changes, the room will took on a new, up-to-date, timeless charm that made the homeowner feel welcome each time they entered the room.

Contemporary Espresso

Feb 2010

The main objective of this kitchen was to create a well-designed, styled space. The room lacked detail and the owners wanted the kitchen to be the focal point and the center of their home. One challenge was overcoming the large space in the room. The kitchen needed to be defined with the large open floor plan in mind. The perimeter of the space was done with a z-shaped working island. Unique color selections give this room a tailored, sophisticated, high-style look. A key design element was symmetry and free-form design, as seen in the submitted photos.
