Historic Reno Home goes Traditional yet Contemporary

Oct 2015

This iconic home had two layers of thick cedar shakes on the roof giving the home a dated and tired appearance. The owner wanted to stay true to the historic charm but add a more of a contemporary feel. The decision came down to replacing the roof with a 24 ga Standing Seam roof from True Green Roofing Solutions. The result was a classic transformation, updating the house immediately!

Historic Reno Home Gets Re-Roof Transformation

Apr 2015

A Reno home on the historic register was in dire need of removing the three layers of roofing that had been layered over time onto the home. Not only did the removal of the layers reduce the tremendous weight on the home, but the choice to use a stone coated steel shake roof from True Green Roofing Solutions gave the home a lifetime roof that maintained the historic aesthetics! Owner, neighbors and historic society thrilled!

Historic Nevada Church Re-roof

Jan 2015

We were approached by a very informed congregation that had done a tremendous amount of research to determine the kind of roofing they wanted to replace their decades old cedar shingles. This church was dedicated in 1867 and thus has one of the oldest linages to Nevada history. They needed a light weight but very strong roofing material that would in fact help to hold in place the bowing walls of the building. They were not looking for the cheapest roofing material as the consensus was to never repeat this process again. They chose a Stone Coated Steel Roof with a "Shake" profile to replicate the historic look for their historic town. We are humbled to have collaborated on such an endeavor and that the outcome was truly worthy of their praises!!!

Keeping History in the Family in Reno, NV

May 2014

Having inherited the property from her Grandfather, the owner was intent on preserving the historic appeal of this 1915 Craftsman home. Although in not the best of shape, the owner has thoughtfully and painstakingly begun the transition of this beloved home and began with a new Gerard stone coated steel "canyon shake" roof from True Green Roofing Solutions - the leading metal experts on the west coast. The roof design beefed up the look of the home after the asbestos shingles and an additional asphalt shingle layer were removed. Not only is the load on the historic house MUCH lighter but the strength of the roofing is unsurpassed. The roof won the heart of the owner as well as the Reno Historic Society whose involvement was required in the decision.

Historic Reno Home - Office Conversion - in Need of Insulation

Nov 2010

This historic building located in downtown Reno, built in 1904, was in dire need of replacing the cedar shake roofing and increasing the insulating property of the house. The owner chose a Gerard stone coated steel shake from True Green Roofing Solutions - which because of the installation method increases the R-Value of the building and also added a rigid foam insulation for under panel placement. The result not only satisfied the aesthetic expectation but significantly reduced the heat loss from the building - thus reducing heating and cooling costs. This roofing, much like this historic building, will be around for a very long while!!
