First Call Home Improvement

We used this contractor in our last house and he did a wonderful job on hardwood floors, tile and deck. However, we used him for installing hardwood flooring in our new home on August 30th, and we are very disappointed. We paid cash for the job upfront, which was our mistake, we trusted him. We were told the job would take 3 days and it extended to 6 days. The workers left left glue covered door knobs as well as glue covered floors. Stair treads were cut down and used instead of Stair Nose on three landings causing a 1/4" lip on the landings which is a potential trip hazard. Shoe moldings were not completed and thresholds were left unfinished. Workers left and gave me a bottle of glue remover and said "You can use this to remove any glue left behind". Took me 6 hours on my hands and knees to remove all the glue in one bedroom. Contractor gave multiple excuses for not coming out to inspect work, then gave promises to come out and fix any problems. That was Sept. 29th, and I have not heard from him since. Filed a complaint with BBB, and a response was never given. I am not a difficult customer, I just want the work completed as promised. I have pictures to back up my complaint. The contractor has them as well. Would not recommend this contractor. 2-2-15 Update: We have had the BBB mediating for us to get our job completed. First Call stated that they no longer have a hardwood flooring person working with them, however they would compensate us $300 to hire someone to complete the "Minor" repairs. We hired a contractor and the total bill came to $1,015.74. First Call has not responded at all with reimbursement to complete the job they failed to complete. Not to mention, they blew off the BBB with no response. I would not recommend this company for any project, unless you want to be dissappointed. I have photos of the before and after the job was completed by another contractor. I would be more than happy to share the photos if you are interested.
