Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Porch, we’re happy you’re here. This Quick Start Guide is intended to help set you up for success as fast as possible. Follow these instructions to set up your account so you can start receiving leads in no time!

 

Logging in:

Step 1. Open your mobile browser:

  • We recommend to use Safari if you use an iPhone
  • We recommend to use Google Chrome if you use an Android phone

Step 2. Go to Porch.com

Step 3. Click the 3 lines on the left and select log in

Step 4. Enter your login information 

If you’re logged out, you’ll need to log in to purchase leads through the lead notifications you receive.

 

Setting the mobile web on the home page your phone

Step 1. Go to your mobile browser, log in, and go to the options menu

  • If you have an iPhone you will tap the icon featuring a right-pointing arrow coming out of a box along the top of the Safari window to open a drop-down menu and tap ‘Add to Home Screen.’
  • If you have an Android phone you will click on the menu option on the top right corner and select ‘Add to Home screen’

Step 2. Type in the name you wish to save it as

  • If you have an iPhone you will need to click ‘Add’. Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your home screen.
  • If you have an Android phone you will need to click ‘Add Automatically’

Step 3. You will find the Porch web page widget on your home screen. You can press on it to adjust the place you wish to have it at.

 

Personalizing your profile

Step 1. Log in

Step 2. Click on the profile logo/icon (on the top right corner) and go to ‘Settings’

Step 3. Go to ‘Edit Company Profile’

Step 4. Go to the ‘Name’ tab and type in the company name

Step 5. Go to the ‘About’ tab and fill out the company information, which homeowners will see

Step 6. Go to the ‘Contact’ tab and fill out the company contact information. This is where you can set more than one Email to receive lead Email Notifications to.

Step 7. Go to the ‘Images’ tab. Click on the pencil icon on the profile picture to upload a profile picture (250 x 250 pixels)

Step 8. Click on the pencil icon on the banner to upload a banner (1600 x 350 pixels)

All modifications will be automatically saved

 

Pro Success Tip: 

  • Using your photo, instead of a logo or graphic, helps prospective clients connect with you more personally.

 

Completing your profile personalization

Adding as many details as possible helps your profile stand out to viewers and clients. The following steps will guide you through adding your license information to your profile.

Step 1. Log in

Step 2. Click on your logo (on the top right corner) and go to ‘Settings’

Step 3. Go to ‘Edit Licenses’

Step 4. Click on ‘Add a new license’

Step 5. Fill out your license information and click ‘Save’

 

You can add project details of past projects to your profile as well. The more you share, the more prospective clients will take you in consideration when making a decision on a project. The following steps will guide you through adding completed projects to your profile. 

Step 1. Log in

Step 2. Click on your logo (on the top right corner) and go to ‘Settings’

Step 3. Go to ‘Edit Profile Projects’

Step 4. Click on ‘Add Project’

Step 5. Fill out your project details and click ‘Save’

 

How to set up your service area

Step 1. Go to Porch.com and log in

Step 2. Go to your ‘Settings’

Step 3. Go to ‘Update Service Area’

Step 4. Click ‘Save’ before exiting the page

 

Setting up your service type

Step 1. Log in to your Porch account

Step 2. Click on ‘Settings’ 

Step 3. Under Services and Service Area click on ‘Modify Trades and services’

Step 4. Use the search bar to find the specific service you are searching for and click ‘Add’

Step 5. Once you’re finish make sure to click ‘Save’

 

Pro Success Tips:

  • Filling out all of the details on your profile projects gives you a higher opportunity for prospective clients to consider you for projects.
  • Having a wide variety of services and service areas can increase your lead demand.

 

Notification Settings

Setting up your Email and phone number for lead notifications

Step 1. Log in to your Porch account

Step 2. Click on “Settings” 

Step 3. Under User Settings click on “Update User Information”

Step 4. You will be able to modify your email address and phone number for where you want to receive your lead notifications under the Contact Information

Step 5. Once you’re finish make sure to click “Save”

Kindly note that only SMS notifications will be sent to the phone number in your ‘User Settings’. Our verified leads will be sent to the phone contact on your profile.

 

Modifying lead notifications preferences

Step 1. Log in to your Porch account

Step 2. Go to your  “Settings” 

Step 3. Under User Settings click on “Change Notifications”

Step 4. Mark all of the checkboxes listed except for ‘Plain text lead receipt email notifications’. Make sure to select ‘Pay as You Go email notifications’ and “Pay as You Go SMS notifications”.

Step 5. Once you’ve finished make sure to click “Save” 

 

How to pause leads

Step 1. Log in to your Porch account

Step 2. Click on “settings” 

Step 3. Under notifications and alerts click on “Pause Lead Delivery”

Step 4. Click on “Schedule New Unavailability Period

Step 5. Choose the dates. Highlight the days to pause and click on the date you want the pause to end on

Step 6. Under reason for unavailability, choose the reason why you are requesting your pause. 

Step 7. Leaving a brief message is optional

Step 8. When done, please make sure to click “Save”

 

Pro Success Tips:

  • Save the number 855-244-0900 to identify when you are receiving a Verified Lead.
  • Having a clear voicemail allows clients to be able to leave detailed messages.
  • Checking your voicemail daily can ensure you don’t miss out on opportunities.
  • Avoid missing out on any project opportunities by having someone that can help answer incoming calls.
  • Pause your leads when you go on vacation or have more workload than usual.

 

How to purchase leads

You will receive leads via Email and SMS to the contact information you filled out, but you can also purchase leads through your profile by following the next steps.

Step 1. Log in to your Porch account

Step 2. Go to your ‘Dashboard’

Step 3. Go to the ‘New’ tab to purchase available leads

Step 4. Select the lead you’re interested in purchasing

Step 5. Click the ‘Purchase Now’ button on the top right and confirm the purchase

 

How to view leads

You can view your purchased leads by following the next steps.

Step 1. Log in to your Porch account

Step 2. Go to your ‘Dashboard’

Step 3. Go to the ‘In Process’ tab to view the leads you are communicating with

Step 4. Go to the ‘All’ tab to view all of the purchased leads

Step 5. Go to the ‘Credit Requests’ tab to view the status of the lead credit requests

 

Pro Success Tips:

  • Purchase the newer leads. Avoid purchasing leads that are older than 12 hours.
  • Review our Lead Credit Policy to make sure all of the requirements are met, facilitating any lead credit request.
