  | Wethersfield Residing | Jan 2015 | On this particular job in Wethersfield, Connecticut, when we stripped off the siding, we found very little insulation, some water damage, and rot. The best way to re-side an old house, or one with multiple siding layers, is to start over. We took off all the old siding, and got down to the original sheathing. We then located any issues and corrected them. Next we installed a new layer of foam board insulation to add R value to the house. The insulation also provided a vapor barrier and a flat surface for the siding. Now the home would be more energy efficient and the added depth also made the windows appear less recessed, giving the home a look of new construction rather than a face lift. | Wethersfield, CT | |
