  | Into the Light | Jun 2014 | The previous owners had built a 2-story addition to the back of this house but it completely lacked architectural detail like the rest of this charming 1920s home. In addition to making the spaces visually connected to the home, one of the clients primary goals was to get more light into the 1st-floor kitchen and 2nd-floor bathroom. The dark, cramped kitchen was relocated into the addition space and the bathroom was reconfigured to allow for large windows to bathe each room in light. Moving the kitchen also allowed for more family to gather in the space, the addition of a comfortably-sized powder bath, and a spacious back entrance. The bathroom now houses a more functional separate tub and shower. Both rooms are filled with beautiful materials that are right at home with the rest of the house and its 1920s charm. | $60k | Madison, WI |
