Antique Reproduction Kitchen Project

Aug 2013

Our client requested that we avoid using any plywood or particle board products when building the kitchen cabinetry for this recently registered historical farm house. The house was built in 1900 in rural Boulder County. There was one piece that we believed to be original to the house, and we used that cabinet to drive our design and hardware selection. We milled the parts for these truly frame and panel cabinetry from Douglas fir floor joists that were reclaimed from a Kansas City factory built during the same year as the farmhouse. The Doug fir was a beautiful material and showed plenty of evidence of previous use. The finish in the kitchen is a white shellac paint with a burnt umber glaze, while the mudroom and laundry cabinets were stained dark red mahogany.

Walnut Desk and Furniture

Sep 2013

We selected premium walnut crotch and quartered veneer to edge two contemporary desks designed by architect Jane Snyder with Mosaic Architects and Interiors. We made the 30" deep dovetail drawers to fully extend with soft closing drawer slides from Blum.
