Bouchards team came into my neighborhood to seal coat our driveways. He came around telling me for 195 he would seal and fill cracks in my driveway. He told me all I would need to do is remove my cars for the next day. I did so. I returned to find the next day the work done. However they had failed to remove and seal under a flower pot. And that the cracks they filled were not done so properly. I asked that he return to complete the job. He did so while I was gone. I returned to find the flower pot moved and sealed under, good. However the cracks were over filled and sloppy. They stand out on my driveway now that was perfectly fine prior to his work. He also sealed again over the cracks making the entire area a different color than the rest of the driveway. He told me after this was done he knew this would be the case. I asked that he seal the driveway in one coat in order to make the job cohesive and one continuous color. He said he would do so for more money. BUYER BEWARE... SHOTTY WORK AND VERY ARGUMENTATIVE. IN FACT THEY SWORE AT ME ON THE PHONE AND HUNG UP. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN.

My husband and I were excited to work with Bouchard's seal coating and paving this summer to have our driveway paved. Randy came to do an estimate very quickly and his estimate was reasonable compared to a few other local companies. On April 22nd, Randy came to pick up a deposit (almost $2500) for the driveway. We were told his crew would start the first week in May to do the first step of prepping and laying gravel and then follow up 2 weeks later with the paving. We did not hear anything from Randy come May and so we contacted him to follow up and see when the first step would be done. We were told the weather was holding them back and they'd be out soon. A couple weeks later we had to call once again to follow up and see when the work would be done. Again we were told there were several others in front of us and that weather was holding them back. Fast forward another couple weeks and we just got off the phone today (mid June) with Randy. We were told last week that they would be here by the end of this week but with no firm date. My husband called today to find out the set date and Randy again made excuses with no firm date. I was standing right there and heard every word. My husband was respectful, never raised his voice, but was very firm. He said we understand the weather but that we are continually being pushed back and our conversations with the company are only met with excuses and interruptions. Randy did not let my husband speak. When my husband was firm in saying we need this to be started this week (6 weeks late at this point) Randy said, well we will get your money back to you and you can work with someone else. He hung up the phone. My husband called back to find out when we would receive our money back and Randy again cut him off, made excuses and said he couldn't be down to our area until next week. I called back, so it would be a fresh voice and I was met with an incredibly frustrating conversation. I was extremely calm, respectful and kind on the phone. I was patient and listened to everything he had to say. I said that we wanted to work with them and didn't want to have to leave a negative review for his company. I said that we were offended by his hanging up on us and he did not apologize but made excuses and blamed my husband for having attitude. I have not experienced such poor customer service ever. Randy was very unprofessional. I explained we were understanding about the weather but needed him to be proactive in letting us know if he wasn't able to come out and to give us something firm. There has been rain, but not any worse than any Vermont spring. My requests were met with excuses, explanations about how they have been burned by this job and that because of weather. That is irrelevant. Good customer service always listens to the customer, contacts them if they are unable to fulfill a commitment and is courteous on the phone. When I calmly said we are dissappointed to have to go with a new company and asked when I would receive my money back I was told by the end of the week. I asked what day and he said Saturday - today is Monday. We will see if we receive our refund by then. Randy made excuses even for this, saying that they won't make it down to the area (we are in Winooski) all week. The most frustrating pieces were that when we asked for an estimate he was out that same day I believe, or within a day or two. When we called to confirm we'd like them to do the job, he was out to get the deposit check promptly as well. Since then WE have had to make all follow up calls. We have been met with excuses due to weather and previous jobs. We were 6 weeks behind schedule. We were hung up on and then blamed for it. We never said we didn't want to work with them, we were understanding of weather, but 6 weeks seems like a very long delay. When Randy then cancelled the job on us, we were told the money would be returned "sometime next week". We unfortunately will never recommend this company to anyone. It was incredibly disappointing to be treated this way as a customer who had already paid over $2K dollars and was gracious and patient in the process. Please take your business elsewhere to avoid having to work with these frustrations yourself. We hoped to have the situation rectified so we wouldn't need to leave a negative review, but Randy did not give us that chance. We never even received a simple apology.
