Garage Cabinet Fabrication

Jan 2017

We fabricated boxes for the base of the cabinets with pressure-treated 2x4's to prevent any damage to the cabinets. We then built the cabinets to the homeowners specs and attached them to the 2x4 boxes and the rear wall.

Litchfield Greenhouse Fabrication

Dec 2016

On this project we built a type of wood framed greenhouse with wooden paneling and Tuftex panels. We built this greenhouse beneath a stilt built, open design, oceanfront, home. There was an existing deck overhanging on the east end of the house so we decided to begin there. We first framed the green house in with 4x4's, 2x4's, 2x6's, and 1x2's. The basic, outer frame and posts are 4x4's buried 18 inches into the ground for support. The 4x4's connect directly to the over hanging deck to box in our greenhouse frame. Then I started on the west facing side of the framing and began installing 2x4's, vertically, at 24 inches on center. Once the framing was completed and we had our greenhouse frame we were ready to install the exterior door. After installing the door and all the framing completed, we started installing the siding for the west side of the greenhouse and the back side, under the house. All that was left to do was to install the Tuftex panels. We framed the greenhouse 24 inches on center so that the 8' x 2' panels would overlap, to prevent any wind or rain from entering the structure. I used a screw gun, screws and washers to secure the Tuftex panels. Before securing the Tuftex panels, there is a foam seal to glue to the framing so that it seals it from the elements. After applying the foam with liquid nails the Tuftex panels were ready to be put into place and secured with 2 inch galvanized screws. Each panel is held into place and holes are pre-drilled to prevent cracking or splitting of the Tuftex or the wood framing. After they are pre-drilled, secure each panel with the 2 inch galvanized screws, being sure to secure the foam and paneling together. At the top and ends of the structure we secured aluminum flashing to prevent the elements from getting into the greenhouse. The point of entrance for the greenhouse is through the underside of the house, beneath the deck. After everything was installed, sealed, and the door in place, the greenhouse was ready for use and the job was completed. I used treated and untreated 2x4's, 4x4's, 2x6's, 1x2's, and wood shims for leveling the door. I secured everything with 1.5 and 2.5 inch framing nails, 2 inch and 3 inch galvanized screws, and a tube of liquid nails. Tools that were used for the job include: measuring tape, framing hammer, mini sledge hammer, nail punch, flat head and phillips head screw driver, compressor, compressor hoses, framing nail gun, pry bars, channel lock pliers, caulk gun, circular saw, extension cords, wood clamps, saw horses, paint brush, razor knife, chalk box, speed square, framing square, torpedo and 2 foot level, flat shovel and spade shovel, corded and cordless screw gun and drill, and a variety of different saw blades and drill bits.

Myrtle Beach Suspended Ceiling Repair

Nov 2016

I received a call from a building owner and he had some suspended ceiling tiles that were discolored and he had a few leaks coming in from the roof. We removed the affected tiles and insulation and fixed the grid the tiles sit on. We then used Kilz to treat the underdecking and rafters so that no mold or mildew could grow. Began hanging ceiling tiles, duct work and HVAC vents back into place. We used a measuring tape, straight edge, and a razor knife to cut the tiles to fit into the corners and match them within 1/8th so they fit correctly, and don't knock the whole room out of square.

Florence Tree Removal and Pruning

Oct 2016

We had a 25 foot tree that had fallen into the homeowners yard on top of a shed, as well as a 45 foot tree that was still standing. We tore the shed down and disposed of the material. We limbed each of the trees with a chainsaw and hauled the wood off the property. Then we began taking the standing 45 foot tree down, 3 feet at a time. We used a bobcat to load all wood up and disposed of it at the local landfill.

Lake City Roof Repair, Water Loss & Mitigation

Oct 2016

This emergency job was a 8 pitch roof that we tarped to keep any other rain from entering the house. We used roofing nails, 1x1's and heavy duty contractor tarps. I built a frame with the 1x1's and secured the tarp to the frame I constructed. Then we identified the effected areas of the roof and used a passlode nail gun to secure the tarps to the roof. We also draped multiple tarps over the ridge of the house and patched shingles to ensure no more damage occurred, on the exterior or interior. On the interior of the home we identified the leak and where the water was coming in through the roof. We then set up 2 dehumidifiers, 4 fans and sprayed microban to dry the area. In order to pull the moisture out of the air, I ran 2 dehumidifiers and 4 fans to circulate the air to promote the drying process and deter the growth of mold and mildew.

Emergency Roof Repair

Sep 2016

Due to Hurricane Matthew and all the rain and wind, we have been doing a lot of roof repairs. This emergency job was a 10 pitch roof that we tarped to keep any other rain from entering the house. We used roofing nails, 1x1's and heavy duty contractor tarps. I built a frame with the 1x1's and secured the tarp to the frame I constructed. Then we identified the effected areas of the roof and used a passlode nail gun to secure the tarps to the roof.
