Ipe Harwood and Cable Rail

Sep 2013

We can remodel or refurbish your existing deck. In this case the framing was still in good shape. We got rid of all the old decking and railing and replaced it with Ipe hardwood decking and Cable Railing. Ipe (pronounced ee-pay) is one of the most durable decking substances out there. It's very hard and is fire and insect resistant. Our cable railing features powder coated aluminum posts and stainless steel cables.

Large Low Maintenance Deck

Jul 2013

Vinyl decking isn't the only choice in low maintenance decking. Although the composites of the past were often prone to mold and warping, capped composite is different. It's a solid deck board made of composite but with a thin capping over it for protection. It's a great low maintenance alternative and has a long life. this deck is made using Trex Transcends material. The railing is a larger rail from TimberTech. It's also a capped composite making this a very heavy duty, low maintenance deck that will last for years to come. The rail posts and stairs are finished off with lighting for ambiance at night.

Vinyl Deck With Benches

Aug 2012

This vinyl deck is low to the ground eliminating the need for railing. In this case the customer chose to go with benches around the perimeter with two flower boxes. Benches are a great option for a smaller deck where there's not a lot of room for extra patio furniture. This deck was custom designed with two color patterns to add diversity. The flower boxes are great for planting your favorite summertime blooms.

Cumaru Hardwood Deck

Jul 2012

The beauty of natural wood can hardly be compared to synthetic decking. Most people are steering away from the traditional Pressure Treated Pine because of the high maintenance and short life. An alternative is hardwood. Cumaru is a hardwood imported from Brazil. It is a very dense wood with a long life. It's similar in performance to Ipe, another Brazilian hardwood that we work with. Cumaru's density and hardness allow it to be insect and fire resistant. If left untreated it will fade to a nice weathered gray, but it's strength and longevity will remain. If treated yearly or every other year with an oil or hardwood wax, it will retain it's brilliant reddish brown look. As seen in the photos, Cumaru varies in color and hue from board to board giving it an almost modern, yet classic look. If you're looking for the beauty of natural wood with the same longevity as synthetics, Cumaru or Ipe are the choice for you!
