We were initially contracted by an out-of-state architect to repair a kitchen ceiling and paint a couple of rooms at property in Blasdell, NY, before it was listed for sale. The owner expanded to project to include repairs and paint throughout the home, as well as installation of new base and quarter round molding on the first and second floors, new sliding and pocket door installations, a new floor in the kitchen, and urethane application (after removing carpet) to the original wood floors.

This owner took the beginning of his summer break and planned an entire overhaul of his first floor interior. After removing old ceiling trim, floor boards, and various kitchen components, we began aat a steady pace, replacing drywall where needed, patching and filling holes in the interior walls, skim coating several sizable sections of the kitchen walls and ceiling, and finally applied new primer and paint to the living room, master bedroom, kitchen, and second bedroom. We also painted the ceilings, and primed and painted door and window trim throughout.

This homeowner had a fresh idea for a colorful paint scheme, which worked well as a finish. The crown molding, bookshelves, fireplace, and living room windows were painted in a light almond tone to soften the contrast between the ceiling (white) and walls, which were finished in a color called 'robin's egg'.

We scraped, sanded, re-taped, and reapplied new joint compound to cracked corners, uneven surfaces, and areas where a sharp appearance was lacking. In addition, the owner expanded the project to include a new skim coated ceiling finish in the living room.
