Garage Door Portico

Oct 2016

This home was originally built with just a small porch to access the garage service door. But the door was exposed to the elements and started to suffer jamb deterioration. So we replaced the door and installed new decking. We built a new portico roof with matching aluminum columns and railings from AFCO industries. We finished off the deck with a new coat of paint and the final look was original to the house.

Long's Graceland

Sep 2016

We started by removing old wood railings and posts. We used a decking restore product to bring new life and color to the existing wood porch. We added a new set of steps and metal soffit under deck at the garage entry. (We will often add metal under a deck to create a new dry space for common use or storage, in whatever color the customer likes. This is a very affordable way to gain additional usable space). We installed new 8" AFCO aluminum structural columns and new Deckorator Avalon aluminum powder coated railings and balusters. Changing the color of the shutters and front entry door completed this project with a fresh new look.

Dion's Barbacue Place

Aug 2016

Not all decks that we build are large outdoor living spaces. Some decks we build are for simple practical purposes. In this case the customers only wanted a place to put their grill and have a some chairs and a small table to enjoy drinks or a meal outside. The choice was a wood pressure treated deck with powder coated aluminum balusters. We then added a premium lattice panel around the base of the screened-in porch for a nice finish. Simple. Practical. Economical.

Murray The Baker's 3-Season Screened Porch & Pergola

Aug 2015

"The homeowner had a small open deck (10x16) on rear of home. We removed old decking boards and reframed joists to accommodate new screened-in porch, complete with (Velux) skylights and ceiling fan. We then added a 300 sq. ft. deck with a waterfall staircase and a pergola. Wrought Iron accents from Black Dog Salvage in Virginia provided the finishing touches on the décor.

Florida Sun Room

Jun 2015

The customers were looking for a brightly lit sun room designed for quiet relaxation and reading. We came up with a design that included lots of glass, bottom transom windows and a painted bead board cathedral ceiling. The room was finished with an unusual ceiling fan and wall sconces. The main concern that the customers had was to make this room addition seamless so it looked like part of the original house. This was accomplished by paying attention to detail and being able to use matching material still in production.

Thompson's Skylights

Nov 2013

The objective of this project was to bring in natural light in a dark living room during the day, and controlled mood lighting at night. We started by installing 2 sets of Velux skylights, (Conatser Construction & Remodeling are certified contractors for Velux Skylights) creating a large flared tunnel. At the base of the tunnels we installed decorative crown molding and new led pin lighting on a dimmer switch. The look I was going for was a cruise ship lounge.

Bathroom Getaway

Nov 2012

A lot of newer spec homes being built today have a garden tub in the master bath. Although there is a novelty attitude towards these tubs most are not used. Well, actually I did have a customer use his garden tub for live fish (he was a bass tournament fisherman) but his wife soon put a stop to that. They (tubs) are simply not very functional. In this circumstance we removed the old tub and replaced with a reproduction claw foot tub. We added new light & plumbing fixtures for a brand new look to this master bathroom. We also extended the window sill for candles, pictures, or a soothing glass of wine.

The Backyard Retreat

Aug 2012

Starting with the rear deck frame, we added on to create a large wrap around deck complete with two staircases. The deck was constructed from composite decking and railing with aluminum powder coated balusters. The newel posts were capped with decorative rose glass tops. We then added a new entry sidewalk and new patio. These were stained and stamped concrete.

Bob's Big Barbecue

Jun 2012

This customer was looking for two things, first a deck that was maintenance free and second, a place to barbecue. So we built a ground level deck that floated over the back concrete patio using composite decking and powder coated aluminum balusters. The newel posts were finished with solar powered glass tops. We then added a stone area built into the framing to accommodate the barbecue. The stone was sealed to protect against spills and burns and we ran a propane gas line for easy hook up. The final result was a beautiful and functional deck to be enjoyed for years to come.
