Flame won't turn on or off, I’m actually not sure I have two gas fireplaces and they haven’t been lit since my husband passed away in 2019 I never knew how to work them. I had a friend who came and told me that the gas valve on both of them are broke one won’t let the gas shut off and have that one has a really weak flame and the other fireplace just won’t start at all he said.
