What was your biggest challenge and/or biggest takeaway working on this project?

Sojo Design

Sojo Design The details were extremely important. I had to figure out how to make all the materials come together correctly so the execution was flawless.

Who was the architect?

Sojo Design

Sojo Design Richard Drummond Davis Architects, based out of Dallas, TX.

How long did this project take?

Sojo Design

Sojo Design Project Duration: 2 years Design: 3-4 months Building Permits: 2 months Construction: 1.5 years

What are some of the key materials you used?

Sojo Design

Sojo Design The exterior is Texas sand stone. We used Turkish lime stone leading up to the house and continued that on into the interior. I did inlays with a darker colored limestone to create different patterns. In some rooms I used a lightly hand-scraped walnut floor as well as some herring bone patterns.

Sojo Design This home was built from the ground up. I took part in the planning and design of interior architectural details and all other interior design elements. I created clean lines but utilized texture.

What was the homeowner's main goal or motivation for doing this project?

Sojo Design

Sojo Design This was going to be the clients primary home. They wanted something with a Mediterranean feel on the interior; something kind of masculine, with muted tones and a lot of texture.
