1980's Exterior Remodel

Jan 2013

The exterior of this 1980's home was beige and lacking in character. Adding craftsman details like brackets, pillars, gables and stone transformed the home. Using several contrasting colors gives the exterior added visual interest. Photos by Brit Amundson

Minnetonka Remodel

Jan 2013

Our clients love their home's location, a tranquil Minnetonka neighborhood near the highest point in Hennepin County. Built in 1973, the exterior has a contemporary aesthetic, but prior to the remodel the interior layout was more traditional, with each room separated from the next. TreHus opened up the floorplan by connecting the kitchen to the dining room, and infused the home with warm materials like lyptus wood cabinets and Brazilian walnut floors. The new layout allows natural light to penetrate deep into the interior of the home, giving it a peaceful, airy aesthetic. Photos by Brit Amundson.

Historic Cottage Renovation

Jan 2012

TreHus worked from photographs of this home dating back to the early 1900's and with the Minneapolis Historic Preservation Commission to ensure that we honored the home's spirit and heritage throughout the project. Old-world craftsmanship and materials such as the tongue-and- groove boards, beadboard accents on the cabinetry, subway tile, carerra marble, and wide plank pine flooring authentically bring back this home's former glory. Photos by Susan Gilmore. Total: $440K - Addition $200K, Kitchen $120K, Master Bath $100K, LR Remodel: $20K

Scandinavian Kitchen

Jan 2012

The owners of this kitchen gained space, beauty, and a view of their garden (which they call 'a 24 year labor of love') through a TreHus remodel. The new kitchen fits well with the 1908 house and has details that give a nod to the owners' Scandinavian heritage. Photos by Brit Amundson. Kitchen $50K

Remodel of 2004 Suburban Home

Jan 2011

The owners of this 2004 production home wanted to add some character, as well as fix a few issues with layout and flow. New doors were put on existing cabinet boxes, a new custom island was built, and some cabinets were added. New pendants, flooring, granite tops, backsplash and range hood complete the transformation of the kitchen. The fireplace area underwent a dramatic transformation, with stock cabinets being replaced by custom and the addition of the stone facing around the new gas fireplace. In the master bath, custom cabinetry, new tile and lighting provide additional storage and add comfort and style. Photo by Brit Amundson. Total: $160K - Kitchen facelift: $50K, LR facelift $70K, Bathroom $40K

Arts and Crafts Fireplace

Jan 2010

Craftsmanship details are abundant in this 1909 arts and crafts tudor home, but the living room fireplace had been overlooked. Creating the perfect fireplace started with selecting and carefully detailing Arts and Crafts tile and custom woodwork. The wainscot, trim and woodwork throughout the room were refinished. The Bradbury and Bradbury wall paper was selected by the owners. The new fireplace fits so seamlessly into this home that when friends come over to visit they've been unable to tell what has changed - exactly what the owners wanted from this project. Classic Kitchen

Jan 2009

Granite countertops, birch flooring, and custom cherry cabinets help this kitchen remodel fit in with the classic style of this historic home. A built-in bench gives the family an informal setting for meals. Whimsical details like the rooster on the range backsplash add a personal touch. Photo by John Reed Foresman. Kitchen: $120K
