With all the fall festivities in full swing, I can’t wait to get our home decorated. This season is probably my favorite time to decorate. Everything seems so cozy. And I just love adding a touch of homemade to every holiday home decor piece I put out. Which is why I created this Thanksgiving wall art tutorial that is the perfect addition to any area of your home!
Materials
- Giant Wooden Sign
- Faux Magnolia Plant
- Sharpie Oil-Based Pen (black, gold, white)
- Push Pins
- Scissors
Tutorial
Step One
Cut off leaves from the faux magnolia plant. I found mine at Michaels.
I just used regular scissors to cut the leaves as they were super bendy, but I have had to use floral scissors on some other faux plants. Check how bendy they are before you decide on what type of scissor you will use!
Step Two
Using your Sharpie, write one word on each leaf. I wrote the quote “Thankful and Grateful Today and Every Day”. I alternated colors.
I would love to think I am good at calligraphy, but I am not. So I just used my funky handwriting.
Step Three
Attach the leaves to the wooden board using the push pins. You might need a few push pins in each leaf to hold them into place.
I also added some double-sided tape to the back of one of the “and”s, as it wouldn’t stay in place.
Step Four
Display for your Thanksgiving feast! This wall art would be adorable on a plate stand next to the Thanksgiving meal. It is a true reminder of everything we have to be thankful for this year!
I added this Thanksgiving wall art to our hot chocolate and coffee station! Once I grabbed all the supplies like our favorite hot chocolate, marshmallows, and straws, I kept them all contained and tidy in a wooden tray. Because, let’s face it, I hate things unorganized!!
A few years ago, I created the Thankful burlap banner and you can find the full tutorial over at my blog, The Organized Mama.
