What do you get when you pair up two of America’s favorite combos? A Peanut Butter and Jelly Party, of course!
When my sorority sister Becca contacted me and asked me to help with her son’s 1st Birthday Celebration I was excited about the party theme she had chosen and couldn’t wait to start planning this playful and creative Peanut Butter and Jelly Party. Becca said the idea for this party came from her families love affair with the gourmet peanut butter from the Peanut Butter & Co. We decided this gourmet, good-for-you, indulgent treat and the companies creative PB&J sandwiches would be the perfect inspiration for her son’s party.
Burlap, wood and lots of rustic details were used to create the table display for this classic party. I used pallets to create a focal point and hung a burlap banner and a handmade peanut garland. Pops of purple and yellow were added to coordinate with the creative custom invitation and paper designs from The Paper Cupcake.
Food stations at parties are becoming an increasingly popular trend and this Peanut Butter and Jelly bar was an absolute hit with party guest young and old. With a variety of breads, peanut butter flavors, jellies, and mix-ins guest could create their own one-of-a-kind sandwich or try something fun from the suggested menu. The PB&J bar featured gourmet flavors like White Chocolate Wonderful, Dark Chocolate Dreams and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl from the Peanut Butter & Co. Nothing goes better with PB&J than a cold glass of milk to wash it all down. Guest sipped milk in individual milk bottles wrapped with burlap and ruffled crepe paper through fancy purple polka dot straws. Chocolate chip cookies and chocolate dipped Nutter Butter cookies rounded out the goodies on this PB&J bar. Bedtime Bakers made the delicious cake to resemble a giant peanut butter sandwich and a mini version was made just for the birthday boy.
Everyone had a great time creating delicious PB&J combos and celebrating the birthday boy. This Peanut Butter and Jelly Party appealed to adults and kids alike, you just can’t go wrong when you pair two classic favorites and one super cute birthday boy!
