When the homeowners finally decided to create a yard to compliment their grand home, Scott Cohen designed the perfect backyard resort for this family. Now they can enjoy An outdoor kitchen, waterslide, fire pit conversation area, and of course a beautiful swimming pool and spa with Baja shelf, built-in cocktail tables, and shaded pavilion.

When we first arrived at this Bell Canyon backyard, it had an older pool with faux boulders on one side and lots of dirt. We refinished and remodeled the swimming pool, adding a Baja shelf, fountain, swim-up bar, and waterfall. Next to the house, we added a landing that leads out to a fire pit filled with blue recycled glass, and then steps down to a larger landing next to the large all-tile spa. Another stairway goes down to the outdoor kitchen and a dining patio, and a longer set of steps lead down to the swimming pool and covered sun deck.

This Woodland Hills upscale casual backyard was built from scratch. A custom outdoor fireplace anchors one of the sitting areas near the new vanishing edge swimming pool and in-ground spa. The swimming pool has a built in Baja shelf and a sitting area with checkers board. A covered lighted outdoor kitchen with cast in place concrete counters overlooks the spacious yard. Fire bowls flank the swimming pool.

When Scott Cohen arrived at this West Hills house in the San Fernando Valley, the swimming pool and outdoor kitchen hadn't been touched since the 1970s. All that changed when he came up with a beautiful design and The Green Scene added a tile backrest, Baja shelf, fire pit, new wood arbors, and stamped concrete flooring. The planters were refreshed with low maintenance plants and topped with cast concrete. The new outdoor kitchen reflects the backyard's casual upscale California style and includes a state of the art weatherproof sound system that connects to an iPhone or iPod.

This Camarillo, CA family wanted a whole new resort style backyard. Not only did we demolish their old swimming pool and put in a new vanishing edge pool with a swim-up bar (in a different place), we also added a beautiful stone and tile outdoor kitchen with a barbeque grill and concrete bar, custom masonry fire pit and outdoor fireplace, and a putting green! The fire and water bowls flanking the spa feature a halo of river rocks around the fire in the middle; the water spills from the bowl into the basin, and then into the all-glass tile infinity award winning pool.

The Green Scene transformed this formerly bare lot, in the Newbury Park section of Thousand Oaks, into a family Mediterranean playground that includes a swimming pool with a Baja shelf and a raised spa and water slide that flow into it. On the way up to the water slide, a platform adjacent to a rope swing adds to the fun. 3 fire bowls and a fire pit with built in seating light up the space at night. A nearby cast in place concrete outdoor kitchen with all of the latest barbecue accessories closer to the house facilitates entertaining in style. An outdoor shower closer to the house lets bathers rinse off before sitting down to an al fresco meal, shooting hoops on the new basketball court, or playing bocce ball.
