Today we’re chatting on the front porch with Southern California-based lifestyle blogger, Maria Provenzano! From yummy recipes and DIY projects, to beauty tips and mommy experiences, Maria has something for everyone. Head on over to her blog to read the rest of this interview!

What’s your DIY weapon of choice? A glue gun… it fixes everything!

One tip for preparing your home for Thanksgiving? Clean as you go. It can be so annoying to try and work in a messy space where everything seems to just pile up. If you clean a dish right after you use it you don’t have to worry about people coming over and seeing a disaster in your kitchen.

What are 3 words to describe your blog? Just 3? Ok here it goes… Encouraging, Comfortable, Fun!

Tell us about a time when you had a DIY fail (we’ve all had them!) Mine are usually in the kitchen, because that’s where I tend to venture out the most! In my first attempt to make spun sugar for a croquembouche I not only burned my hands and arms, but ruined my clothes AND the pan I was using. All of this made me an hour late for the party I was going to. When I returned home I realized there was spun sugar stuck to basically everything in the kitchen!

How did you become interested in blogging? I was constantly being asked for my recipes and realized blogging was the best way to share them. It became a great creative outlet where I was able to constantly challenge myself. It has turned into a career for me and I love every second of it.

Strangest decoration in your house? I have a porcelain basket that my Grandma Provenzano painted in like 1985… it’s definitely an Easter decoration, but I leave it out all year long because it reminds me of her.

Hardest part about blogging? Finding the time to do as much as I want to do. My brain has about a million ideas going on at once and balancing those and time with my family can be challenging.

Best part about blogging? I love to inspire people to be hands-on with their life! I grew up with a mom who taught me that everything is better when it’s homemade and it’s so fun to share that with my readers.
